Who can use this service?
You can use this service if you’re:
- Aged 18 or over
- Aged 17 and within 3 months of your 18th birthday
You have to be registered with a GP surgery in England to use this service.
We urge everyone eligible who has not yet had their first vaccine to book on the national booking system or by calling 119.

- You can book an appointment at Leytonstone Library, or make general vaccine enquiries by calling 0208 496 3000

- If you have had your first vaccine, please make sure you have your second vaccine to ensure maximum protection

Covid-19 Pharmacies and Vaccination centres
People If you live in Tower Hamlets, Newham or Waltham Forest and are over the age of 18, you can book yourself in, and sometimes walk-in, for your Covid-19 vaccination at over 50 vaccination centres in north east London.
It is really important you have both doses of the vaccine to give you maximum protection from Covid-19. You should book your second jab eight to ten weeks after your first dose.

Covid-19 Vaccinations for anyone aged 16 and over
People aged 16 to 17 can now get a Covid-19 vaccine by walking into certain vaccination centres listed here without an appointment. No need to book, they can just turn up and get their Pfizer vaccine – they can also use the “Grab-a-Jab” finder.
More of our vaccination centres across north east London will start giving jabs to 16 to 17-year-olds soon – see the NEL HCP website for the latest information. They do not need to come with their parent/guardian but are asked to bring proof of age. NHS England is also writing to all 16 and 17 year olds inviting them for a vaccine.
Covid-19 Vaccinations for anyone aged 12 – 15 years
All 16 and 17-year-olds are being offered a first dose, with the intention of having a second at a later date.
Those aged 12 to 15 are already eligible for two doses if they are at higher risk due to:
- Severe neutralizability (which could include cerebral palsy, autism or epilepsy)
- Down’s syndrome
- A severely weakened immune system, including some children with cancer
- Profound and multiple learning difficulties
- Chronic heart, lung and liver conditions
Children of the same age who live with people who have a suppressed immune system can also be vaccinated.
The vaccine is mainly likely to be given in schools and parents will be asked for consent, parental consent will be sought for vaccinations, but that children can consent themselves (without parents) if deemed competent. Those aged 16 and 17 don’t need parental permission, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Book your Vaccinations
You need to:
- Have 2 doses of the coronavirus vaccine at 2 appointments
- Book both appointments at the same time
- Get the 2nd dose 11 to 12 weeks after getting your 1st dose
You can use this service for someone else.
If you’ve had a positive COVID-19 test, you should wait 4 weeks from the date you had the test before you book an appointment.
If you’re under 30, you will not be offered appointments for the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine. There may be fewer appointments available or you may have to travel further.

You must be registered with a GP surgery in England to use this service. You can register with a GP if you do not have one.
Proof of Vaccination status for travel
“The surgery is unable to issue a letter or certificate confirming your vaccination status for overseas travel. Please see Government guidance for further information. Proof of your vaccination status is visible within the NHS app, which is available for Apple and Android devices.
Alternatively, you can call the NHS Covid-19 helpline on 119 and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least five days after you have completed your course of the vaccine, the letter may to take up to seven days to reach you.
Please check Foreign Office and local travel advice for specific details of whether proof of vaccination status is accepted at your destination. The majority of countries, including the UK, still require arrivals to participate in a Covid-19 testing, isolation and/or quarantine regime, regardless of their vaccination status.”
